Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co., Inc. is a global manufacturer and distributor of fire protection products. Reliable manufactures the highest quality and most innovative fire sprinklers, valves and special systems on the market; distributes a full line of best in class system components.
Reliable Model F1FR series sprinklers are quick-response automatic sprinklers with a glass bulb thermal element.
Model F1FR series sprinklers are Standard Spray sprinklers, with the exception of the Model F1FR56 Conventional sprinkler which is an Old-style/Conventional sprinkler.
The Model F1FR Series automatic sprinklers utilize a 3.0mm frangible glass bulb. These sprinklers have demonstrated response times in laboratory tests which are five to ten times faster than standard response sprinklers. This quick response enables the Model F1FR Series sprinklers to apply water to a fire faster than standard-response sprinklers of the same temperature rating.
The glass bulb consists of an accurately controlled amount of special fluid hermetically sealed inside a precisely manufactured glass capsule. This glass bulb is specially constructed to provide fast thermal response.
At normal temperatures, the glass bulb contains the fluid in both the liquid and vapor phases. The vapor phase can be seen as a small bubble. As heat is applied, the liquid expands, forcing the bubble smaller and smaller as the liquid pressure increases. Continued heating forces the liquid to push out against the bulb, causing the glass to shatter, opening the waterway and allowing the deflector to distribute the discharging water.
Model F1FR Series sprinklers provide a wide range of options where quick-response, glass bulb sprinklers are used:
Model F3-56 Dry sprinklers are standard-response, standard coverage sprinklers with a nominal K-Factor of 5.6 (8.0 metric). Available in Dry Pendent or Dry Horizontal Sidewall configurations, Model F3-56 Dry sprinklers all use a 5mm glass bulb operating element.
Model F3QR56 Dry sprinklers are quick-response, stan dard coverage sprinklers with a nominal K-Factor of 5.6 (8.0 metric). Available in Dry Pendent or Dry Horizontal Sidewall configurations, Model F3QR56 Dry sprinklers all use a 3mm glass bulb operating element. Model F3QR56 Dry sprinklers are intended for installation on wet-pipe, dry-pipe, or preaction sprinkler systems.
Model F4FR-NF Non Ferrous Concealer™ is designed specifically for MRI rooms. The sprinkler assembly was tested in a laboratory with a magnetic field up to 6 Tesla.
The F156, F142, F1XLH & F128 Series Glass Bulb Sprinkler combines the durability of a standard sprinkler with the attractive low profile of a decorative sprinkler. Whether installed on exposed piping or in an office ceiling, it is functional and attractive.
Beautifully versatile is the description for the Reliable Models F1 Series Recessed glass bulb sprinklers. Recessing the F1 Series enhances its already low profile decorative
appearance, and facilitates a rapid and perfect installation.
The recessed escutcheon of the Models are highly adjustable. The two piece construction makes field installation a very easy and rapid task. This also allows ceiling panels to later be removed without shutting down the fire protection system, thus facilitating maintenance of above ceiling services.

The F1 Series Sprinkler temperature rating is identified by the color of the glass bulb capsule as well as frame color where applicable.
Model F1 Res Pendent sprinklers are fast response sprinklers combining excellent durability, high sensitivity glass bulb and low profile decorative design. The F1 Res Horizontal Sidewall sprinklers are equally attractive when above ceiling piping cannot be used.
The 3mm glass-bulb pendent sprinklers permit the efficient use of residential water supplies for sprinkler coverage in residential fire protection design. The low flow F1 Res sprinklers are specially engineered for fast thermal response to meet the sensitive fire protection application needs of the latest residential market standards Upon fire conditions, rising heat causes a sprinkler’s heat sensitive element, glass bulb or link to actuate, releasing the waterway for water flow onto the deflector, evenly distributing the discharged water to control a fire.
Model G5 series sprinklers are standard coverage, flat plate concealed sprinklers designed for installation in accordance with NFPA 13 and FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets. The sprinklers are offered with a standard Model G5 cover plate (solid or perforated), a Model G5 cover plate with a Quick-response (QR) gasket, or a Model G5 cover plate with a Standard-response (SR) gasket. Model G5 sprinklers must only be used with the Model G5 cover plate listed or approved with the sprinkler. All Model G5 series sprinklers use a fusible-link operating element. Table A provides a summary of available Model G5 series sprinklers, along with Listing and Approval information for each sprinkler and cover plate combination.
Extended Coverage sprinklers such as the Model LT56 series are quick-response sprinklers for use in Light Hazard occupancies only. Model LT56 and Model LT56-300 sprinklers have a glass bulb operating element. They are cULus Listed Specific Application sprinklers designed for installation in accordance with NFPA 13. The spray pattern is specifically designed to cover long narrow spaces, such as corridors and hallways.
Escutcheons are used to enhance the appearance of sprinklers by covering the exposed fittings that are visible from finished walls or ceilings. They are held firmly in place by the sprinkler.
Cover plates are available to limit air and dust movement through the ceilings and walls. They also provide aesthetic appeal and clean finishes.
FlameStop stocks model C Sprinkler Guards. These are designed to be assembled onto installed sprinklers. The design consists of heavy gauge wire welded to steel mounting plates and finished with zinc plating. The Guards protect automatic sprinklers in positions where they may be subject to physical damage. Model C guards are all certified by FM Approvals, while Model C-3 also has a cULus Listing.
