SCOPE

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is a highly efficient versatile firefighting foam for protection of a wide range of Class B flammable liquid hazards.

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is an all synthetic film forming foam designed for protection of water soluble polar solvents as well as water insoluble hydrocarbon flammable liquids.

When used with fresh, sea, or brackish water and foam generating equipment, Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL forms a vapour-blanketing foam with excellent extinguishing and securing abilities.

The effectiveness of Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL on a wide range of flammable liquids and ordinary combustibles can eliminate the need to stock a variety of firefighting agents.

APPLICATIONS

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is highly recommended for use in a wide variety of firefighting foam application devices. Examples are foam chambers, forcing foam makers, and aspirating foam nozzles.

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is UL listed on both hydrocarbons and polar solvent liquids. In addition, practical applications have been demonstrated in a  number of discharge devices, such as non-aspirating sprinklers, water spray nozzles and water/fog nozzles.

FEATURES

Aqueous film formation: Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL has the ability to form an aqueous film which flows quickly over water-insoluble hydrocarbon fuel surfaces causing rapid fire extinguishments and vapour suppression. 

Polymeric properties: Provides a membrane-like protective layer that forms on water-soluble polar solvents (alcohols). The foam blanket and polymeric layer remain intact. Fire suppression and vapour control are positive.

Proportions readily: Permits use in a wide range of proportioning equipment.

ENVIRONMENT & TOXICITY

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is considered as biodegradable material with minimal environmental impact. More than 90% is expected to be biologically degradable within 28 days. The material is non- toxic to Humans, Fish or Animals.

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL complies with EN regulations relating to PFOS & PFOA.

STORAGE

It is recommended to store Orchidex ARC 3X6 UL in its original containers at a temperature between 0°C and 40°C with suitable cover and protected from sunlight in order to maintain its original physical and chemical characteristics and to reach a shelf life of 20 years and even more. The foam should be tested for its physical properties and specifications after 5 years from the production date, and thereafter retested each year. Freezing and thawing have no adverse effect on the product performance, though a slight stratification may result; in such case, a moderate mixing before use is advisable.

PACKAGING

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is available in drums (20 L/kg, 200L/kg and 1000L/kg). Shipments can also be made in bulk.
