Linear Heat Detection - Digital Cable Locator Control

General

The P-ADLCU is an optional location control unit for digital linear heat cable. Additional to the sensor cable it monitors the cable and identifies along the length of the cable where the alarm condition has occurred.

Application

For applications where long lengths of cable are installed such as cable tunnels, road tunnels and conveyor belts, the PADLCU can detect along the length of cable the location of the alarm event.

A maximum of 3 km of Alarmline II digital sensor cable may be attached to the P-ADLCU.

Installation friendly

The FM Approved P-ADLCU has been designed to work exclusively with Alarmline II digital linear heat detection (LHD) cables. The P-ADLCU is installed between a single length of digital LHD cable and a conventional fire alarm control zone or addressable module. It is able to locate and display an alarm point up to 3000 metres (10,000 feet) along LHD cable.

An important design feature of the P-ADLCU is the uninterrupted operation of the conventional zone or addressable module regardless of any faults that may occur in the P-ADLCU, such as loss of power to the unit itself. The unit is simple to install and operate.
